Nick Martini survived a life-threatening tumor at 15, then spent his teens trespassing on private property filming ski and skate footage while outrunning cops. By 16 he was competing professionally on the global circuit — a kid from the mountains suddenly traveling the world on someone else's dime.
At 19, the first of five ACL tears began a brutal chapter that would total 14 surgeries, leaving him in his mid-20s barely able to walk. Most people would have stopped. Nick doubled down. Camera always in hand, he'd spent years building an obsessive eye for storytelling and an unmatched network of elite athletes and global brand marketers.
That network led to a chance shoot with an unknown basketball player named Steph Curry — Nick's first commercial production, and the spark that ignited everything. He moved to L.A., co-founded Stept Studios, and in under a decade scaled it from a scrappy film outfit to an 80-person powerhouse with five integrated subsidiaries; Stept Studios, Lockt Post, Vault Rentals, 10&2 Talent, and WDE.
In addition to his entrepreneurial ventures, Nick continues to work as a film director for both commercials and documentaries. Nick has recently been enlisted by Apple, Toyota, Carhartt, The North Face, Under Armour, ESPN, and Oakley to produce their dynamic brand anthems. He is also known for his work with celebrity athletes including Peyton Manning, Patrick Mahomes, Coco Gauff, Shohei Ohtani, Phil Mickelson, and more.
From Antarctica expeditions to being on-set with global stars, Nick keeps chasing the edge — and turning what he finds there into something worth watching.
